The ingredients you need along with how to make it are listed as follows:
- 454 gram butter
- 340 gram caster sugar
- 8 eggs
- 720 gram all-purpose flour
- 500 ml milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 Princess Sofia cake topper
Grease and flour three 9 inch round cake pans and three 6-inch cake pans.
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Using a mixer, cream butter and sugar until it’s fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time then add milk, flour alternately starts and ends with flour.
Once the mixture is thoroughly mixed, equally divide batter into pans, bake for 30 minutes.
Prepare purple colored ganache, and three shades of purple of buttercream. As for the ganache, microwave 200gr white chocolate for 3 minutes.
Add 1 tablespoon of butter, a few drops of purple food coloring to mix. Let it cool.
For the buttercream, cream 300gr salted butter with 500gr icing sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, divide into four parts. Set one part of the frosting aside.
Add a few drops of purple food coloring into three other parts of frosting – a little at a time until you have 3 different shades.
Take out the 9-inch cake, crumb coat with the leftover white frosting. Then take out the 6-inch dome-shaped cake from the fridge. Put it atop the bigger cake.
Do not bother to crumb coating the dome-shaped cake because you’ll cover it with ganache. Remember not to tamper it, just slowly and carefully drizzle the ganache. So, it covers the dome-shaped cake. Don’t worry if it drips onto the 9-inch cake because you’ll cover it with buttercream.
Using extra large star piping tips, pipe a circular swirl outward until resembles a rose, repeat. Start from the bottom using the darker shade of purple, and progress with the lighter shades until the whole 9-inch cake is covered.
Take Princess Sofia topper and put it on top of the dome shaped cake. So, it looks like the doll’s gown. Who says Princess Sofia Birthday Cake is difficult to make?
